PADI: DIVEMASTER

The PADI Divemaster course is the first step to becomming a PADI professional. During the Divemaster course you will gain instructor level knowledge along with watermanship skills and stamina. You will also work on your scuba skills until they are up to demonstration quality.

Other subjects covered in this course include: underwater mapping, rescue procedures, dive planning, leadership and the proper response to common student problems.

On successful completion of this course you will be qualified to assist a PADI instructor with both confined water and open water training, lead qualified divers on local orientation dives and attend an Emergency First Response instructors course.

The Divemaster course can be run as either a formal 6 day course or as an internship.

prerequisites

PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or equivalent. PADI Rescue Diver or equivalent. In date CPR and First Aid qualification. Minimum of 20 logged dives. Be at least 18 years old at the start of the course.

certification prerequisites

Proof of 60 logged dives showing experience in night, deep and navigation diving. Medical clearance by a doctor, within the last 12 months, attesting to fitness to dive.
